Trent's Deep Sea Fishing Trip

Trent got to go deep sea fishing for free with the scouts just two weeks ago (6/12). They had a blast!!! Needless to say, I am pretty jealous:) They went and camped near the beach and then woke up and went fishing- and caught 71 fish in just an hour and a half. Trent said it was "almost un-sportsman like" because how easy it was. The bait could barely hit the water the fish were biting so good. He has planned to take me on the 11th- cant wait!!!! In the meantime- we have fresh fish out the ears- anyone want some?

Pay it Forward

Ok, so I saw this on my friend Libby's blog, and was one of the first five to comment, so I am paying it forward. What a cute idea... thanks Libby:)

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!!! My choice especially for you. This offer does have a few restrictions and limitations:

I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

1.What I create will be just for you.

2.It will be done this year. You may have to be patient.

3.You will have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or maybe even some creation I haven't invented yet. I may draw or paint something. {now that might be interesting.} I may bake you something and mail it to you. I may even sew something for you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

4.I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

Oh, in case you didn't catch the whole 'pay it forward' idea: the goal is that you do something similar, and pass on the goodness. You could re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who comment, or just do 5 random good deeds... whatever it is- Pay it forward:)

Summer has been good so far... not too much going on yet.  Trent is done with school on June 13th for a week or two until summer school starts up on the 23rd. Here are some pictures of Taven's new love: Soda (yeah- he is a duffey alright!) and him swimming with his girl friend Addie.

Taven's First Birthday!!!

Taven's First Birthday was a blast!  We hung out outside, ate BBQ and a delicious cake my by Brandy, the kids swam, and everybody helped open up presents.  We had lots of friends and family and are so grateful for everyone that came, and all those who couldn't but would have:) Taven got spoiled with presents (THANK You THANK you everyone) and just loved stuffing his face with cake. We had so much fun that a few friends and ourselves ended up staying and playing until almost midnight- don't worry, we put the kids to sleep before then:)  Check out Brandy's site for more pictures!  www.bmdstudioevents.blogspot.com

Monterrey Bay Aquarium

Grandma and Grandpa Duffey flew out for their spring break a few weeks ago and Taven was in heaven!  So much attention, so little naps, and so much fun.  We went up to my parents house, the boys went golfing, I broke my finger playing softball, we came back to our place, went to Keith and Linda's in Sonora for a wonderful dinner, shopped around for houses and took a "shortcut" (that was my fault) to Monterrey Bay.  Taven LOVED the aquarium.  It was a blast- If only Terry and Marge lived closer:)

Taven is Standing!

He has been doing this for about a month. He started standing on his own over Valentines weekend. My sister said she thought she saw him standing in his bed one afternoon when she accidentaly walked in on his nap, and then someone else said that they saw him standing at a different time. Well, I leave to go to target for one morning and I get back and he is standing up on the coffee table! One day he cant even crawl and now he is practically walking! Needless to say, he has gotten so good at pulling up and standing on anything and everything that you cant keep him down. He is so dang strong, and is more stubborn than me and Trent put together, so that should tell you something! Well, sometimes I give in (it gets tiring fighting him at every diaper change, bath, and bed time) and just let him wonder for a while nude until I get too scared that he is going to pee all over. This is what a stay at home mom means when she says she gambles :)
